Frequently asked questions

Helpful answers before you call.

Start with the common questions below, then speak directly with Nick for advice about your particular outdoor area.

Products and applications

How do framed PVC weather screens work?

Clear PVC is held within a custom-sized aluminium frame to create a barrier against wind and rain. Panels can be configured to open in different ways so the outdoor area remains flexible.

Can screens be fitted to an existing veranda or pergola?

Often, yes. Nick needs to inspect the existing structure, measure the openings and confirm that a suitable configuration can be fitted.

Are framed weather screens the same as café blinds?

No. Café blinds generally use flexible sheets that roll up and down. Framed weather screens hold the PVC in aluminium panels that can slide, hinge or bi-fold.

What opening styles are available?

Sliding, hinged and bi-folding configurations are available. The right option depends on the opening, clearance and how you want to use the area.

Measuring and installation

Who measures and installs the screens?

Nick personally measures and installs Weather Screens by Nick projects.

What happens during the measure?

Nick assesses the structure, measures each opening and discusses suitable materials, frame finishes and opening configurations before preparing a quote.

How long will my project take?

Timing varies with the size and configuration of the project, manufacturing requirements, travel and current bookings. Nick can provide an estimate with your quote.

Warranties, villages and locations

What warranty is included?

Current installations have a 10-year frame warranty and a 3-year PVC warranty. Ask Nick for the conditions and care requirements that apply to your quotation.

Can weather screens be installed in a retirement village?

Yes, subject to the site being suitable and any required village-management approval. Residents should confirm their village’s requirements before manufacture or installation.
